Personal Interview (PI)

The PI is conducted by the Interviewing Officer (IO) — usually on Day 3 or 4. It lasts 40–60 minutes and covers everything from your PIQ form to current affairs. The IO is not trying to trick you — they want to understand who you really are.

PIQ Form — Filling it Right

The PIQ (Personal Information Questionnaire) is filled on Day 1. Every word you write will be used in your PI. The IO reads your PIQ before meeting you.

Fill honestly

Never exaggerate ranks or achievements. The IO will probe deeply — inconsistencies destroy credibility.

Think before listing hobbies

Only list hobbies you genuinely do. If you write 'reading', expect to name 5 books you read this year.

Prepare for every achievement

For each achievement or position you list, prepare a 2-minute story about it.

Know your reasons

For 'Why Armed Forces' — write your genuine, personal reason. Not 'to serve the nation' alone — give a specific incident or inspiration.
